Carsten and I went to this little waterfall nestled in a small valley just inside the city limits. Carsten tells me there are several more falls in town, but this one is probably the most picturesque.
I was playing with the Sepia filter on the digital camera to "proof" the pictures prior to using my 35mm SLR to take the same shot.

Compare this to the shot on the previous page. Notice how the red filter pulls out the contrast in the sky. The pictures were taken about ten seconds apart, so it's not like the clouds moved that radically. |
An interesting effect; the little snow that remained clung to the shady sedimentary rock nestled in the shade of southern side of the little valley. |

Ithaca Falls - Ice Diamonds (Sepia Landscape).jpg |
A visual curiosity: water frozen onto reed stalks form ice diamonds. |
Same place, just composed a little differently. |

Another view of the falls, with some of the shallows in the foreground. |
Taking the camera out of Sepia mode, I caught this picture from the bridge crossing over the little river. |

Finally, another sepia shot of the waterfall. |
