Butchart Garden

One of the many places to see in and around Victoria is Butchart Gardens. They have billboards as far away as California's Central Valley. But if you're a gardener, it's definitely worth going.

Probably the first thing you'll visit when you go to Butchart garden is the Sunken Garden. This is an old limestone quarry that Mrs. Butchart had converted into a dazzling display of color. Of all of Butchart, this is probably the most photographed.

Tucked away in the sunken garden one finds many private spaces, not frequently disturbed by visitors. This is just one of those; elsewhere you'll find a waterfall, a lily pond, and a small cottage. Secluded statuary in the Sunken Garden

What garden would be complete without an arbor, and roses climbing all over it. Naturally, Butchart has just such a thing... and an entire rose garden to boot. Other parts of Butchart include the Japanese garden, the Italian garden, and even an amphitheater. If you come, definitely bring extra film.
